A frequent topic of conversation around here is, “How do we regulate our news consumption?”

It’ s been the topic since before he took office, but starting on January 20, the whole world has been drinking from a fire hose. I’ve put in some systems, but I still struggle. My friends are struggling to sleep. My family is struggling with being triggered.

I think today I’m going to try to take a complete break from the news, and tomorrow I’ll write a little bit about my experience of this, who I’m finding helpful, and that sort of thing, instead of doing a link round up.

Because this is a marathon, and our nervous systems weren’t built for this, so we have to train, but we also have to rest.
