When a gaggle of Nobel prize winning economists predict that your economic plan will be an inflation bomb, and literally everyone with any expertise or common sense understanding of trade warns you that you shouldn’t go through with your tariff plan, and you do it anyway (causing the Wall Street Journal to say that it’s the Dumbest Trade War In History)… are we surprised at the market numbers this morning? Of course not.

So today is the initial crash. We’ll probably have a little rally in the short term, followed by the REAL crash in a couple weeks when the first tariffed goods come in, and no one can afford anything other than strict survival goods. The oligarchs are going to have a hard time strip-mining the peasantry for additional wealth when we can’t afford food and rent at the same time, and we no longer have 401K’s or pensions because they crashed the market.
